This guide walks you through the process of setting up a Mastercard Smart Data corporate card feed to Astrada in order to bulk enroll your cards and share transaction related data with your Spend Management Provider.

  • Step 1: Contact your Issuing Bank relationship manager and request your CDF3 feed to be sent to Astrada.
  • Step 2: Obtain DeliveryID for confirmation of feed setup from your bank
  • Step 3: Provide DeliveryID to your Spend Management Provider

Step 1: Contact your Issuing Bank relationship manager and request your CDF3 feed to be sent to Astrada.

In order to complete your network bulk enrollment, you will need an active Smart Data CDF3 feed to be configured to Astrada.

To do this, you will need to communicate with your Issuer through your bank relationship manager.

Our guidance is that you ask your bank relationship manager the following questions:

  • How can I set up a Mastercard SmartData commercial card feed to send to my spend management provider?
  • Is there a form I can fill out to provide configuration instructions for my Smart Data commercial card feed?

Subject: Setting up a Mastercard SmartData feed

Dear [Issuer],

I'm writing to request the setup of a Mastercard SmartData CDF3 feed for our commercial card program with the BIN: [6-8 digit BIN], to be sent to our spend management platform.

Specifically, we need you to configure this data feed through Mastercard's SmartData platform to be sent to Astrada.

I've attached a PDF document containing all required configuration details for the SmartData feed setup.

Alternatively, if there's a form I can fill in with the configuration details, feel free to send that across.

If there are any questions or additional documentation needed, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I look forward to your guidance on next steps to implement this data feed configuration.

Best regards,

The relationship manager will either ask you for the SmartData configuration details (below), or alternatively send you a form to fill in these configuration details (PDF or Excel).

If it facilitates, we're happy to be included in any email correspondence between yourselves and the issuer in order to help expedite the request and provide any information that is required. To do so, feel free to CC Astrada using [email protected].

It is important that your Issuer follow our configuration requirements that are outlined below. Your Issuer may provide you with a setup form that refers to a subset of the configuration requirements. While most of the requirements are complied with by default, it is important that you confirm all configurations are understood by the Issuer. Any deviation is likely to lead to a partial or entire failure of the enrollment process, which will necessitate rectification from the Issuer.

Should you encounter issues in expressing your needs, you are free to reach out to [email protected], and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.

Activation

When you have received the confirmation that the file delivery has been setup:

  1. Go to Activities -> View -> File Deliveries
  2. Locate and click on the File Delivery you would like to activate. It will have:
    1. "File Delivery ID" matching your confirmation email;
    2. "Receiving Application": Astrada; and
    3. "Status": Pending
  3. From the Action menu select Activate File Delivery

Note: The Astrada system is always ready to receive files.

Step 2: Obtain DeliveryID for confirmation of feed setup from your bank

Mastercard generates a unique ID for each data feed setup known called a DeliveryID. You will need the DeliveryID to activate your feed. Your Issuer, upon receiving this DeliveryID from Mastercard, should relay it to you. If the DeliveryID is not provided in your issuing bank's confirmation of the feed setup, please contact them to request it.

Your feed will not be able to be configured until you provide your DeliveryID to your Spend Management Provider.

Your issuer may also ask you to sign a data release waiver. This will need to be completed by one of your organization's signatories in order to complete the setup of your card feed. Neither Astrada nor your Spend Management Provider can assist in the completion of this waiver.

Step 3: Provide DeliveryID to your Spend Management Provider

Provide the DeliveryID to your Spend Management Provider to pass on to Astrada to activate the data feed.

Once activated, no further action is required on your part for data sharing.
